• The Department of Chemistry conducted a guest lecture under Quality Education Improvement Programme, ‘Chemical Fertilizers - Application & Drawbacks’ on 10.11.2017. Dr.K.N.Palanisamy, Prof & Head, Department of Chemistry, Kongu Engineering College was the resource person of the guest lecture.
• The Department of English organized a 12-day Refresher course on ‘Enhancing English Fluency through Mass Media Utilization’ for the first year B.E/B.Tech students from 09/10/17 to 20/10/17. The Department of English inaugurated the English Literary Association and the Toastmasters Club for the academic year 2017-18 on 22.09.2017 .

• The association of the Department of Science and Humanities “SCIENCE CLUB – PHENMACH” was inaugurated by Dr. R. Sahadevan, Director, Ramanujan Institute of Higher Mathematics, University of Madras, Chennai on 26.10.2016.

• Mathematic Colloquium conducted 3D based demonstrations with real life examples for second semester courses on 10.02.2016 to emphasize the visual exp ression of the students and to enhance the understanding of engineering concepts,. A team of five Trainers headed by K.Shanmugam from Enthu Techonology S olutions India Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore demonstrated the highlights of the software Learnengg.com and helped the students to install and register the softwar e.
• Mathematic Colloquium conducted a Quiz Programme for I B.E./B.Tech students on 12.02.2016.
• To enhance the presentation skill of the students, Mathematic Colloquium conducted Paper presentation for I B.E./B.Tech. students on 17.02.2016.
• Invited talk on Applications of Differential Equations by Dr. S.Marshal Anthoni, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Anna University Regional Centre, Coimbatore was conducted for I B.E./B.Tech. students on 26.02.2016 from 3.00–5.00 pm
• VCET organizes “Orientation Pragramme” for the first year students of Bachelors of Engineering and Technology every year. The main objective of the programme is to formally welcome the newly arrived students to the family of VCET and assist them in starting their academic journey at VCET. The programme was conducted on 17th and 18th of August 2015. The Principal and Dean Academics gave them the orientation. The programme definitely created a stron g impact on the students to achieve great heights.
• The Red Ribbon Club of VCET arranged an orientation programme for its student volunteers on 25.07.2015 and Mr.N.R.Vaideeswaran, District Manager-RRC, coimbatore, gave an orientation. About 152 students participated in the programme.
• Youth Red Cross of VCET celebrated Mr. K. Kamaraj’s birthday on 15.07.2015 as “Kalvi Valarchi Naal” at Panchayat Union Elementary School, Palayapalayam.
• YRC of VCET arranged for an orientation programme on yoga and meditation for the UG First Year students on 29.08.2015. Swamiji Acharya Amritaksharananda Avadhut, the Chief Yoga Trainer for South India, Ananda Marga Mission, Kolkatta gave the orientation to nearly 700 students.
• The Rotaract Club of VCET received 13 awards for the year 14-15 during the Rotary International District 3202 Awards at Kongu Velalar Polytechnic College, Seenapuram on 19.07.2015.
• The faculty of the Dept. of English conducted a Faculty Development Programme ‘Effective Communication for New Generation Learners - A Train the Trainer Programme’ to enhance the communication skills of the faculty members of VCET on the 12th and the 13th of January 2016.
• The English Literary Association (ELA) was a beehive of activities during the months from January to March 2016 to finish up all the competitions especially for the first year students. The ELA organized Scrabble, Story Completion, JAM Speech and other competitions such as Collage Making and Crossword Puzzle. The ELA Guest Lecture was conducted on the 13th of April 2016.
• The Department of English conducted a 12-day refresher course on ‘Enhancing English Proficiency through Mass Media Utilisation’ for the Year-I B.E/B.Tech students in the months of March and April, 2016.
• The Department of Science and Humanities organized a programme on “Mind Mapping and Memory Techniques” for the students of I year B.E/B.Tech programmes on 24.03.2016. Mr.Krishna Varadharajan, Chairman, Idea Plus, Chennai, was the resource person who trained the students to prepare Mind Maps for the subjects offered in the II semester.
